Automated, real-time adherence monitoring
New feature: automated data reading from a smart pill dispenser
Pill Connect dispensers now feature automated data uploads. Every pill that’s dispensed, and every miss, is sent automatically from the bottle and lands with the trial team in real time with no action needed from the patient.
We’ve built continuous, automated remote monitoring of every individual pill with 12 months of battery, from standard medicine bottles.
For patients, they dose as they would and store their meds as they would. The only interaction required of them is pressing the button to get a dose out.
For trial teams, the aim is to provide the best trigger for starting a conversation. When someone misses, the site team can ask why and ask early, with insight into exactly when the miss occurred. Maybe it’s weekend mornings only or evening doses only, we can share this granular insight to the unit pill level.
We’ve developed some smart tech to do this but on the outside it should all seem fairly mundane and that’s the point. No new workflow, no patient effort, but every dose and every miss is visible when it happens, instead of weeks later in a pill count or a diary.
Unfortunately, we can’t show a nice photo of this, there’s nothing to show! So here’s a dispenser on a bedside table, doing its job: making one patient’s actual dosing pattern visible to the site team that needs to see it.
